Create Your Own Raku Pottery
Raku is a 16th Century Japanese outdoor firing process that became popular in the USA in the 1970's. The unique one-hour firing process involves smoke, fire and suprises!
Glaze your own raku pottery and have it fired on-site in our raku kiln at festivals and pottery shows throughout the region; or book Outlaw Pottery to bring our classroom on wheels out to your school or venue to have your group glaze their own raku pottery and have them fired the same day in our portable raku kiln.
Outlaw Pottery often hosts raku pottery firings on a Saturday afternoon and evening at our studio in Hickory. These firings are open to Outlaw Pottery students, local potters and the community at large. It's fun for kids and adults and requires no previous pottery experience. Visit our Special Events page to see when the next raku firing is scheduled. Raku firings are open to local potters and the community.
