THREE WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR RAKU POTTERY FIRING:
1.) Outlaw Pottery monthly adult pottery students can have 4 to 6 raku pots fired at no cost.
2.) Local potters (who are not students of Outlaw Pottery) can fire pots for $6.00 each if using one of our four raku dip glazes or for $4.00 each if using one of your own glazes.
3.) Create Your Own Raku: Don’t have your own pottery? Fun for kids and adults! We have many fun choices for you. Purchase one of our bisque fired raku pots, vases, planters, or poured raku bisque pieces (frog, lizard, turtle, gnome, fish, mushroom, rooster, piggy bank, dog, cat, butterfly, sun, moon, etc.); dip glaze or paint glaze on the piece inside the comfort of our studio; have it fired in our outdoor raku kiln. Each piece is priced separately and includes glaze and firing. Prices start at $10 and include instruction, bisque, glaze and firing. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Pre-registration required since kiln space is limited. Groups welcome. Call 828-896-3288 to register.
Available Time Slots: - 10 to 11 AM - 11 AM to Noon - Noon to 1 PM - 1 to 2 PM - 2 to 3 PM - 3 to 4 PM - 4 to 5 PM
Firing will take place once an hour. Ultimately, Mother Nature determines the firing schedule since wind, rain, sleet and snow are cause for canceling this outdoor raku firing.
